What is ICTI?

ICTI Mission Statement

To act as a center of discussion and information exchange on trends and issues important to the toy industry, to promote safety standards, to reduce or eliminate barriers to trade, and to advance social responsibility in the industry with programs to address environmental concerns, fair and lawful employment practices and workplace safety.

This website has been prepared to provide individuals, governments and their agencies, as well as other interested groups, with information about the International Council of Toy Industries (ICTI) and its role in the worldwide toy industry.

While detailed descriptions of the industry in each member country cannot be included, you are invited to correspond directly with the trade association in the country of your interest for further information.

Objectives:

To promote the interest of toy manufacturing in its 21 member countries
To act as a center for discussion and the exchange of information on a regular basis to improve communications on important toy industry issues and trends
To promote ethical and safe practices in toy factories
To promote toy safety standards
To foster relationships with those interested in the design and educational value of toys
To reduce or eliminate barriers to trade
To foster relationships with consumers and accredited representatives of the trade
To undertake such projects and to initiate such action as shall be approved by the Council in its meetings.

The general management functions of ICTI are performed by the President and Secretary, each of whose term is held for a period of three years. The Presidency is currently held by the Australia Toy Association. The Permanent Secretariat is located in New York at 1115 Broadway, 4th Floor, NY, NY 10010. This serves as the address for all correspondence, except when intended for the President or individual member countries. Each year an annual business meeting is held in a different member country on a rotating basis. English is ICTI's official language.
