ICTI ORGANIZATION & OBJECTIVE
ICTI was formed in 1974 as an association of toy trade associations from around the world.
The products of its member countries encompass the full range of toys, playthings and related merchandise.
It is incorporated as a non-profit corporation under the laws of the State of New York and has these objectives :
To promote the interest of toy manufacturing in its 21 member countries |
To act as a center for discussion and the exchange of information on a regular basis to improve communications
on important toy industry issues and trends |
To promote toy safety standards |
To foster relationships with those interested in the design and educational value of toys |
To reduce or eliminate barriers to trade |
To foster relationships with consumers and accredited representatives of the trade. |
The general management functions of ICTI are performed by the President and Secretariat (both currently held by Toy Manufacturers of America), and an Executive Committee of four acts on behalf of the members. The national toy trade association of the Secretariat serves as the mailing address for all business and correspondence, except when intended for individual member countries. Each year an annual business meeting is held in a different member country on a rotating basis and ICTI's fourth World Toy Conference will be held in 2001 in Los Angeles. English is ICTI's official language.
