LEGO Announces Changes in Leadership

1 March 2016

LEGO announced last week that effective April 1st, Søren Torp Laursen, LEGO Systems’ head will be stepping down and taking on a new position outside the LEGO group. Skip Kodak, who currently heads the company’s Supply Chain Planning & Distribution, will succeed him.

Laursen had been with the company for 29 years, having started as a marketing trainee and working his way up through many leadership positions. He has also had a major presence in the Toy Industry Association (TIA), where he held several positions over 10 years, including Chairman of the Board of Directors from 2012 to 2014.

“Søren has been an outstanding leader of Lego Systems and is deeply respected throughout TIA for his keen focus and strategic mindset as a board member, former Chairman and current member of our Board Advisory Committee,” said TIA President and CEO Steve Pasierb. “I have deep admiration for Søren and come away from each interaction with him inspired by his thoughtful, insightful manner. He is a role model whose wisdom I will greatly miss.”

Kodak’s new leadership role will also make him the head of the LEGO Group’s Market Group Americas. Kodak joined the LEGO Group in 2002 as vice president, U.S. Field Sales. Over the past 14 years, he has held a variety of commercial roles and since 2012 has been a member of LEGO Group’s Corporate Management.
